unable to apprehend the killer, and with no police force on the island, i have taken up the task of solving this crime. i place well-hidden security cameras on the island. things go quiet for a few days, but it's always raining now. things that were once mundane seem darker than before. the local island information desk workers are exercising. for what? to lift and hide the corpse of another animal? a visiting shopkeeper is set up for sales outside in the rain at 5 am. why is he selling shoes this early?

minty one of the locals appears to be deep in thought, perhaps wracked with the guilt of committing a heinous crime. i approach her and she seems to be ready to break. she informs me she needs help getting rid of something! unfortunately, it turns out she just doesn't want a tank top she purchased. i find a message in a bottle on the beach. a confession!? no, a crafting recipe for a dresser.

minty i begin chatting up one of the locals. he subtly informs me that he, too, is investigating this murder and vigilantly watching the others on this island. when questioned the next day he again informs me he's paying attention. i don't know if he's going to help or hinder. i find a notebook on the ground. maybe this "bill" knows more than he lets me know. i'll see if he's got any leads on the notebook.

minty canberra, when awakened, thanks me for returning the notebook but seems to be oblivious of the island's circumstances. i decide to let her find out about the murder some other time. early morning interrogations can be harsh with no breakfast. i'm thanked for my troubles with a raincoat. i'm not sure if i like it. maybe the notebook is filled with art. either way, canberra doesn't seem nearly as suspicious as "bill." bill knows too much...

minty a soil disturbance leads me to a find. bones, buried in the soil... but for how long? possibly, AN ANCIENT MURDER?! perhaps this island has been cursed with violence for longer than i thought. i bring it to the local anthropological expert. instead of focusing on any possible evidence of blunt force trauma, he rants. on, and on, and on... at this rate i wonder if i'll ever get out of the building, let alone get the murder solved. all my leads are running drier by the day, and he wants to talk about this ancient bird...

minty thassit for now

Sucky You dropped suspicion because he bribed you with a raincoat? You're a crooked cop with low standarda.
