General Chat #3-2 Kept You Waiting
Been a while since I made the last one. But it's time once more.
You know how we do by now, right?
I know you do.
Yeah.
Been a while since I made the last one. But it's time once more.

I know you do.
Yeah.
my economics textbook is capitalist propaganda. i want to burn it.
"Self-interest and profit-seeking can be labeled with other names, such as personal choice and freedom."
Minty's still here, huh? Gosh, that feels like such a blast from the past. How are you all doing? Cuz I feel like a heaping pile of ass.
>>45204
Everyone that matters is still here.
I'm doing as usual, not fantastic, but not horrid either. Trying to make the best use of my two weeks of holiday before the next semester starts.
I followed Mein here. Long time no see and stuff. Who I am isn't important, just that I'm a faggot.
>>45205
Yooo, I thought my semester was starting late. My first day of classes is today. Hopefully the semester goes well, cuz then I'll be done with college. What are you studying? I have a feeling it's going to be something like web development. I remember your blog posts being really interesting but 2smart4me.
i hate business law... the textbook is twice the size of the other one, just as 'capitalism is prosperity' as the economics book, and i have to read 4 chapters a week... life is pain
>>45208
Ooooh, neat. I'm trying to learn some basic web coding this semester. I have some experience from my time modding GETchan and I just kind of wanted to see where I could go with that.
>>45210
Web dev is easy. Good web dev is very hard.
Been trying my best to keep up with my training for the past year, made some good progress, but it hasn't really been working out due to feeling fatigue after work. I am trying to lose some weight to start competing next year(hopefully) and that is really all I think about nowadays. I try to add more things I can do in my spare time such as reading and writing. I try my best to keep my interest in these things, but I just really feel up for it most of the time and I just do something else to pass the time. I've had some thoughts of the possibility of going back to college to switch to a Science major since I am really interested in it because I know nothing about it. Although if I can somehow find a better job that pays way better, then I will probably drop this idea and just continue this lifestyle. I don''t really hate it too much, I just feel sometimes I can do better.
My money is now making money in noticeable quantities. I will invest this to make more money.
>>45213
So you're saying you got into the stock market?
Stock is the smallest part of my investment. I invest in the money market and have an Index fund. A chance stock got a 200% increase in price so I made $324 on the trade. I need to find something else to invest in the short term since asset prices are low.
>>45218
Are you using something like Forex or ETrade for this?
>>45218
Well, I guess if you like the gamble...

shin in 5 years after he starts hormone replacement therapy
>>45278
I noticed that you asked me on twitter whether I like it or not (you can't delete what Colleen mirrors in the IRC channel).
Well, it's... too kitschy for me. I prefer styles that do a lot with very little. Styles with interesting line-art and shape-work especially, or that achieve interesting visual effects with colours. This has a bit of the latter, but there's just too much visual noise with the amount of detail going on. Everything blurs together. You can notice this very easily if you look at the picture minimised. It's kind of a sea of colours where only very few distinctive shapes can be recognised. Composition wise, nothing is aligned with the various visual guidelines either, making it difficult for the eye to settle on any particular point.
My above criticisms aside, there's nothing wrong with liking kitsch or detailed artwork of course. It's just a preference kind of thing, and not the kind of thing for me.
>>45279
Except I don't just spout buzzwords to sound techy.
>>45280
Found a new artist today who immediately rose up to be one of my favourites. So, just as an example for the things I like: <https://twitter.com/hyogonosuke>
I wasn't sure if it actually got to you or not. When I reloaded it looked like a blank tweet. Sorry about that.
Also, you are being insulting when you are calling my taste "kitsch."
>>45284
Only if you think liking kitsch is something bad. I like some kitschy things. To be honest I have no idea why there's such a heavy negative stigma associated with kitsch.
New glasses, got a haircut and fuck you all...
Because it indicates trashiness which is not flattering.

I supported your shitty country's economy today by buying an industrial vacuum made in that shithole. That money you is thanks to people like me. So fuck you.
>>45289

hungary for dirt?
>>45287
The original usage of the term "kitsch" is as an elitist distinction between "proper art" and "popular art". According to that, pretty much anything anime is definitely much more in the kitsch area than it could ever be in the "proper art" area as it is defined today. However, I don't really think "proper art" in itself is a distinction worth having, which is why I primarily use the term to distinguish a particular style of colour usage –primarily something loaded with many intense colours and smooth gradients–, which is frequently used in such paintings.
>>45286
And yet even with all those physical changes, you still remain the same faggot at heart.

These days I feel like extra tired and worn out. Maybe because the weather change finally hit me, or just the generic end of year tiredness. Either ways this kinda hinders me to do any activity. At least on weekdays when I'm working. On weekends I just try to rest and recover from this, while still not doing much stuffs. Just a week and few days and I gonna have some holiday(christmas). Then I gonna try to recover and be a bit productive, like doing few sketches and such.
Also anon is a nigger.
Sorry for the long silence folks. It's been a busy month and a half.
For starters, I got a new job at a mining/mineral processing company for a graduates program. Basically, I spend one year at two different sites and am then hired on a third site for 3 more years. I am currently in Alabama. The new job itself is great. I spend most of my time running samples and interpreting data for particle size distribution control of one of the coated products my company makes. This is in large contrast to my last position which was basically making up Standard Operating Procedures, getting employees to follow directions, and posting graphs while attempting to get people to care about them.
Two weeks ago they sent me to Paris, France for an introduction session and meeting with the others in the program. I'm sorry, Shin, that my plans to meet you fell through, but they extended the session an extra day (which means they also paid for the extra hotel stay which was nice). I visited all the typical touristy sites, got drunk on red wine every night with company big wigs and fellow "graduates." I was surprised by how socially acceptable it was to be drunk with business colleagues. Napoleon's tomb was the best attraction.
This entire endeavor has left me quite a bit poorer (needed another car, which required a $3000 down payment, a new suit for important function, new apartment, insurance, etc.). Regardless, I should be able to give gifts. I'm sorry to say that yours will be late, Shin. My Secret Santa recipient will have a special thing, so I need to talk to him a bit later.
Like I said, sorry for the radio silence. Being super social, moving, and so forth is very exhausting. I'll be more regular in IRC and on Saturday's.
Forgot my name.
>>45362
Hey man, that sounds fucking awesome! Looks like things are beginning to look up again for most people. Let's hope it stays that way.
Well, I wouldn't have been able to make it anyway as I got sick on Tuesday that week and didn't feel quite ready to go for a six hour travelling day on Saturday. Still, I was pretty miffed that you never responded to me on IRC even though I pinged you quite a couple of times. As for being drunk being socially acceptable, it kind of depends on the region you're in, but for the most part people like to drink a lot on business dinners, yeah. If you had been in Germany it would've just been beer instead of wine. In Zürich people are a bit more reluctant with alcohol; probably a leftover influence of the Zwingli days to a part.
When will you be at your parents so you can get yours?
I'm definitely looking forward to that! Minty's on more regularly again too, so it looks like the party's coming together once more.
>>45362
that is awesome. i am happy that you seem to be having more fun and possibly enjoying your life a little bit more, man. that sounds fucking great
Sorry about not getting back. I got on around Monday before the program actually started but then met some of the other graduates and we visited a lot of the sites before the actual classes and such started. Once that happened, I was booked from 7AM to 10PM/3AM. Also, I left facebook on overseas so I have a $100+ roaming charge coming my way >.>
>>45366
Oh dear lord. Doesn't your phone automatically turn off mobile data while roaming? All Android devices do that by default as far as I know, so you would've had to explicitly enable it.
"What was the name of that hotel I booked? Hotel de la feux la paix?"
*Turn on roaming to check email*
*forget*
*Text saying you have over $100 in roaming*
It happened like that.

>>45475
そうですか。大変ですね。私も何時も困ります。最近NEETになってしまったんです。「何ができるか」知っていません。そして女の人になりたいですけど、人々は私が嫌いかも知れないし、それは少しこわいんです。生活は苦しみですね。。。
>>45484
It's one of the few things I'm okay at.
Do you have anyone to practice with?
U r all ghey
>>45490
That's probably a major part of your problem, then. Repetitions and reading can only get you so far when it comes to language learning, you've got to practice using the grammatical constructs and vocabulary in conversation, or at least in written composition, in order to really get it to sink in. My fluency improved a lot when my college roommate and another one of my friends also started studying it, and we started using it for idle day-to-day conversations (or just verbally shitposting at each other).
Granted, being a hikikomori, most of the practice I get nowadays is from posting in Japanese on imageboards, watching anime, and listening to Japanese music.
>>45492
煩い!
>>45495
Well, I don't know anyone, and looking for people will get me in front of the overwhelming majority of super embarrassing idiots that only want to learn it because "animu and mango", which even thinking about makes me cringe to the moon and back again.
>>45496
Well, what do you want to learn it for?
Many of those people don't tend to last very long or be very dedicated to it, but if you truly want to learn Japanese, it's possible you'll have to swallow your pride a little for the sake of pragmatism.
>>45498
I like how it sounds tonally and it intrigues me because of how fundamentally different it is. There's no pressing reason why I "have to" learn it or anything, which is why often times the pressure for self-study is lacking when it isn't any fun to do or I can't squeeze it into a good routine.
>>45499
I see. As good a reason as any, I suppose, though it's understandable that motivation is a bit lacking, especially when there are more pressing matters.
Regardless, if I'm around and you want to circlejerk in Japanese to get a little textual practice, feel free.
Sorry to barge in to your conversation again, there's one thing I am wondering about. Are you really a NEET as you claim? How do you get money?
>>45503
Ah, IRC, the true internet cool kid method of communication. Duly noted.
I guess I'll have to reveal my identity there too, and open myself up to mockery for not having been around for eons, but it's probably my just desserts.
>>45510
I don't think anyone's registered the "anonymous" nickname if you really wanna keep to that shtick, and it's not like IRC forces you to give any of your actual identity information. Either way, I always welcome more activity, so if you'd happen to become a regular I'd be all for that.
The latest trend is to draw together using Drawpile. Might do more of that later today, actually.
>>45514
Oh and
>implying anyone actually cares about who you really are
>>45505
I am really a NEET. I "get money" by living with my parents and having money left over from the job I had on campus when I was still on a path to actually doing something with my life (approximately two months ago). I'll probably upgrade to freeter sooner or later, because that money's not going to last forever, and those Touhou plushies I want aren't going to buy themselves.
>>45514
Well, I did used to be a regular under a different name, but if you insist that it doesn't matter, I guess I could take on the nick "Touhou-anon" or something.
>>45515
I'll probably spill the beans eventually anyway, just because I'm a terafag and can't keep even the smallest and most insignificant nobody-gives-a-fuck tier secret worth a shit.
>>45516
It's all good man, we're faggots here, so it doesn't matter. If you have time and wanna hang out with chill people, this is a place to be I guess.
Also, it's not like I can keep anything private. Hell, I [explicitly](http://blog.shinmera.com) [don't](https://chan.tymoon.eu/thread/45248) most of the time.
>>45517
Good to know.
Yeah, I read one of your sadposts yesterday after scrolling down this page and finding a link to it in one of the threads. Actually, looks like it was your most recent post. I found it pretty relatable, though seeing as I'm a NEET and you're not, it seems you're better at coping and/or recovering than I.
>>45519
Ain't too late to fuck up yet.
Anyway, looking forward to seeing you on IRC then.
>>45520
Stay strong, you can do it, Shn-sama!
I'll probably be on later today, it's getting close to my (very stunted) bedtime and I was going to trek over to Walmart to blow some of my remaining hikibux on some |?waxing strips?| prior to doing so as well.
>>45523
Hmm...|?only three hours? You guys are way less internet-addicted than I am...?|well, I guess I'll see how it is when I wake up, and if no one is on I'll just idle until someone shows up.

Today was so horrible. I lost my direction. I have no idea where to go from now on with the project I am on. I get the sense that I am doing less because my boss doesn't trust me. I never get called to meetings (but all 3 of the other graduate engineers do). WTF am I doing?! Have I already fucked up too much? What do I do if I fuck this up? There is no going back.

Ask them. Ask your boss what's going on. There's no reason to sit around guessing the worst.
I don't know what I caught or ate but it was an awful couple of days. Feel mostly better now but still have a sore throat. I lost about 10 pounds from not eating very much so I'm trying to get my appetite back.
In other news I got my motorcycle permit in the other day which came in pretty quickly considering that I passed the very easy exam at the DMV only a week ago. I plan to take the lessons late July or August so I can pay off most of my debt and save up for the lessons.

I feel so anxious and stressed. I don't know how to enjoy any day. All I can think about is how shit is going to fall apart tomorrow. Or the day after that. Etc. I feel no security in this job or in this fucking place where I have no friends or family. I'm so scared of life right now that I'm paralyzed and am letting it slip away.
My boss doesn't trust me. He won't give me any assignments that aren't simply "walk around and catalog this equipment." Once again, I am in a position where I am not learning anything, except this is worse because there is an social office component which I have already been deemed a pariah. Thinking about this more and more, I am coming to the conclusion that I will end up in do nothing job forever, one where I will constantly feel like shit from exclusion and bullying, or simply fall into a slightly better than minimum wage job. I will certainly be fired from this job. I just want to let you guys know you have been great friends and I wish you the best. Don't make shitty moves in life like me and focus on getting a job and shit. Life doesn't care about your plans and is too short to waste on that.
>>45768
Did that project you were implementing once you got back from holidays not turn out well or what happened with that?
As for plans, I don't really have any, which is not a great place to be either. It sucks being stuck in university doing things I hate for the most part (like writing formal proofs for programs as I'm doing right now) without being convinced that it's going to have been worth anything once it's all over. And that's of course assuming that I'll even pass everything, which I'm not at all convinced of, especially considering the subjects I'm going to be repeating next semester.
My job is really beating me up lately because of payroll. Less people = more work for the rest of us. I've been wanting to change my schedule back to working just three days a week but it would mean less money and I wouldn't to be able to save very much.
At the very least, I am practicing programming when I am not at work so I can't be that useless. My credit card debt will be mostly gone by next paycheck and then I can look forward to saving up money for driving lessons.
>>45771
I hope you can bear the stress until you're out of the low that you're in right now. Things should start to look up a lot once you get that driver's license.
You can do it.
since everything sucks for american stc'ers i demand we take over the faroe islands for a less lame, more stable and free-er life

I don't really know what to say, so I'll instead ask: was there anything in specific that prompted it, or was it just the confirmation of your fear that you might get fired at any moment no matter what?
The latter.
>>45792
Any plans on what to do next? Any companies you could look for to find a position again?
>>45790
Thats awful. I'm always on Twitter if ya need someone to talk to.
I'm applying to some places in my home city or the one in my former college town. I hate the true Southerners and their two-faced, backstabbing way of handling things (plus the areas are shit). With these areas I can be around a familiar culture. I'm debating on taking a friend up on a job as an aircraft mechanic (with paid training) as I seriously doubt I'm really suited to engineering.
The fact the fired me has fucked up my entire life. If they would have asked me to quit (or else) that would have been a much more helpful option. Now my resume looks like shit and may bar me from any good jobs in the field. In retrospect, maybe I should have taken the cold-shouldering and such as a sign, but this was so out of left field that I am still burning mad. They fucked my life up. There is no real recovering from this. Fuck Imerys and fuck that stupid plant with its fucking rednecks. I hope my boss's wife dies of her cancer and all the HR women are horribly maimed.
>>45795
Trying out a new area of work sounds good to me. Who knows, maybe you'll even enjoy something that is more hands-on than engineering.
But yeah, it sounds really bad that they just fired you out of nowhere. There isn't really anything much you can do about it anymore now though, so just try to focus on moving forward. I know that's the standard advice and all, but really, we're here to talk if you need time to vent. I'm sure you can pull through this.
I called back and they can't offer paid training. I will have to take 8 months of classes to retrain as a mechanic. I also just submitted to every job in the area with a resume with a typo. I'm trying to fix that now but my best shots won't allow me to resubmit. I really wish I was just dead.
I'm minty and I love to shove Nazi dicks up my ass and then go tell everyone everywhere about it.
>>45806
capital letters? who the fuck do you think you're kidding with that nonsense!?
>>45808
i forgot my meds while i was on vacation... don't be so ableist about my disorders, jeez
>>45809
So you're both a drug addict on withdrawal and you love to shove Nazi dicks up your ass. Got it.
>>45810
...at least i don't like anime
>>45811
Not sure why you'd mention that, but sure.
>>45812
it's nice to know, no matter how bad life is, at least i'm better than anon...

when your public funding sucks because of government cuts n shit so they start corporate sponsoring
So this month 2 1/2 of joblessness. During the first month, it was sort of a relief. It is well into the stage of pain now. It is eating away at my confidence, concentration, attitude, and drive. It wasn't nearly as bad when I graduated college, but now it cuts deep. I hate being a burden on my parents since I don't bring home any money and really can't help them out enough to be financially a benefit. On the other hand, being available all the time has helped me in the instances where I have gotten a callback. The fact I have to lie to recruiters as to why I'm not at my current job also hurts because saying I got fired is only going to hurt me. I surround myself with a hurtbox which is something adapted over the years to help drive me forward and keep me from stagnating. But here, it seems to be counterproductive, as it only intensifies since I can't do anything to move out of it besides some paltry language training, application filling, etc. Times almost up for my old lease so at least that financial burden is over. This is just a messy collection of thoughts, but I haven't published them elsewhere where family and friends would know, since they are poisonous to their view of me. I just needed to get them off my chest.
This is just too sad. Why is this country such shit?
>>45866
because fuck public areas and hooray rampant, unfettered, deregulated capitalism
EVERYTHING MUST BE RAN AS A BUSINESS, INCLUDING SCHOOLS
STUDENTS MUST FUNDRAISE TO HAVE ADEQUATE SUPPLIES AT SCHOOL BECAUSE PEOPLE NEED TO PURCHASE THINGS OUT OF GUILT FOR STUDENTS TO HAVE CLASSROOM NECESSITIES, OR BUY THEIR OWN SCHOOL NECESSITIES SUCH AS PROJECTOR PENS BECAUSE FUNDING CUTS
>>45865
i wish i had the optimism to say "you will look back on this when you are successful and laugh" but reality prevents me from thinking it's gonna get better for anybody in america. this has been a hell of a year, and the blinders are off
>>45868
suicide pact when?
>>45867
but I got a Kermit the Frog plush(which I still have) for selling all that chocolate!
>>45869
How about right now. I have to formulate some mathematical proofs, which is making me want to kill myself.
So I paid a visit at the local clinic today, had appointment. Because the constant pain in my waist and back. I have to attend physiotherapy and having some other treatment. My job really "helped" me achieve this. So I'm currently on a job hunt, because partly it now threatens my health, and overall, shit going down there in the post office. Got fed up with all that shits they are doing. The office-leader and her piece of shit pawns...
>>45872
it's almost like 2016 is gonna be the worst year ever for everyone on the site... wish you luck on your search for the new job, yo...

>>45872
I hope you can find an office job or something like that that won't require you to commute a lot.
>>45873
>>45875
Well so far I applied to some software tester job, waiting for response(or for enough time to be passed to make sure they have no interest). Also got a call with a job offer. I didn't fill an application for this, guess they found me thru that job searching site I'm registered on. The problem was, it's too far from my home, or more like my city. Tough, the lady in the phone told me there might be similar job in my city, so she gonna call me back next week.
>>45876
I've only ever heard bad things about software testing, but that's all only from internet stories, so I don't know what an average job in that position is like, let alone outside of the US.
>>45877
Probably still better than my current job.
The only good thing that happen this year is that my squat and deadlift went up slightly and I'm going back to driving school. I want to leave this shitty job and move on with my life.
i'm inviting a person here... maybe they'll show up, maybe not... anyways, if a new person posts, welcome them like you would any other... and by that i obvs mean shit on their chest and tell them about your daddy issues
>>45892
I'll tell them about your text encoding issues instead. What the fuck did you even do to write like that.
Also, didn't you invite someone else before already and they immediately left again because the gayness levels were way too high up there for them?
>>45895
Like that.
There's different kinds of non-normie.
I also updated the frontpage for ya.
She wants to move to Europe so much that she writes euro symbols after some words.
>>45896
that's not how it shows up on any of my shit? that's where my standard ellipses is...
Stop using ellipses, then
>>45900
It's bad writing practise anyway. There's hardly ever a justification to use more than one dot.
@ minty
I found a new job, so tomorrow I gonna hand over my resignation to my boss. If everything goes right I can start in January at the new place.
>>45923
Congratulations. What's the new gig?
>>45925
I see. How does it pay compared to your previous job?
>>45926
Well speaking with your currency, my previous one paid me around 345 CHF. New one gonna pay around 414 CHF for starter. But it can go up to around 587 CHF. So overall, it gonna pay me much better on the long run.
>>45927
That's per what? Per day? Anyway, good to hear that you're getting a promotion, so to speak. Hopefully the job will be less strenuous than the last one, too.
>>45928
>per day
Then I would have load of cash within just a month.
Guess I fucked up the conversion or Hungarian salary just that shit. Anyway then I just gonna present it with my native currency:
Current (now) shitty mailman job paying me 100 000 HUF/month(plus tip and shits, so say 110 000 HUF max). My new job gonna pay me 120 000 HUF/month. After my three months trial period expires, it can change to 140 000 HUF and can go up to 170 000HUF/month.
So overall it pays better and I no longer have to put up with bullshits.
>>45930
Hmm. You seem to have done the conversion right. With that kind of salary you couldn't afford living around here by a long shot. For the kind of job you're describing, I would wager that around here your average salary is ~4'000-6'000Chf/Month (for 40 hour weeks) which is ~1'155'000-1'730'000HUF/Month. However, a single-person apartment in Zürich would cost you from 1'500-3'000Chf/Month already, so there isn't much left if you deduct that, taxes, and living expenses. So yeah, salaries are higher, but so are living expenses.
>>45931
I kind of thought salaries and living expenses may be higher there. But in comparison, here let's say you average wage is ~170 000 - 180 000 HUF/month. Now if you wanna rent an apartment of some sort, say like just one room + kitchen + bathroom. That costs you ~ 60 000 - 80 000 HUF. This mostly includes everything, including the rent's cost and bills. You still need to buy food and pay insurance, phone bills etc. I'd say it's kinda the same. You don't have much money left in your pocket at the end of the month. Now imagine if I wanna rent a bigger apartment.

Seems I don't have much luck ordering stuffs online.
Once I ordered some darts supplies, some flights, shafts and even an electric darts table. Got a phone call, that stuffs out of stock so they only can send next week. They said they gonna call me when they sent stuffs. This happened more than a year ago. Recently I ordered that steam controller from a local game shop online, choosing to pay with bank transfer, and to get the product in person in one of their shops. Got an email about my order is currently waiting for processing, and once it done they gonna send another email to where to transfer the money, and when I can get the product. This happened a week ago, still waiting for that email.
>>45953
Wow, that sucks. I've only been duped twice by online sellers so far. At one point it was some weird Italian Ebay seller that I ordered a figure off of and never got. The other was a watch store that was still online, but the company of which basically ceased to exist, so I never got my watch either.
>>45954
With the darts stuffs, I didn't lose money, since I would've had to pay for the delivery-man on spot. With the steam controller I'm just still waiting to my order being processed, and being told where to transfer the price. Also this isn't some bullshit made up scammer company. Otherwise I wouldn't have placed an order on the first place. My bet they are just shit slow at processing orders.
So I ended up cancelling my steamcontroller order. I sent them an email to cancel my order. I waited two weeks, nothing. Yeah, they mentioned in the generated message, that because of Black Friday, stuffs might take longer. But two weeks is something I expect from ordering abroad. Also meanwhile bought a spare gamepad of the same kind I already have. Which was much cheaper than the steam controller, and just works perfectly for me. So yeah, fuck online orders. The only things I ever gonna buy online is cheap games on steam during sales.
>>45987
I can sell you my steam controller at a bargain if you want. I ain't gonna use it, lol.
>>45990
I take it for free, and we have a deal.
>>45991
Lol you wish
Today began the first of eight driving lessons. I haven't driven in a year and the first lesson went alright. I jhave to get use to driving at night since I've never done that before and most of lessons will be in the evening. My actual road test is on January 17th. I hope to god that that I don't need to spend any more than I had to on this.
JUST FUCKING DO IT! IT AIN'T THAT HARD! IT'S ALL IN YOUR HEAD! ALL IN YOUR HEAD! ALL IN YOUR HEAD! ALL IN yOUR HEAD ! al" in YOur hea! aul intm yaetou hea
So I've been at the doctor, and asked her if she could give me exemption due to my hurting waist and such. I explained her the details, that my contract expires at 31 of December and l longer wanna work at that shit place. So now I'm spending my notice period at home.
>>46006
Nice going, my buddy.
>>46006
So when are you going to learn 3Ds Max
>>46008
Oh right, gotta do that too.
Wait, operating a machine is hurting your waist? Are you bent over constantly?
>>46010
If I recall, he used to be a post man and had to ride a bicycle everywhere.
Merry Christmas everyone!
One week passed with my new job. It is better than the previous one for sure. But I have yet to see if I actually can learn every quirks of this profession.
>>46061
What kind of stuff do you have to do?
>>46062
This and that, occasionally something else.
i'm getting certified in welding
That is a great trade. Make sure you start looking for apprenticeships early.
I finally passed the road test the other day. Though I think it was because it was raining so the guy cut me some slack because I had trouble with parking(I had to redo two times) so I got pretty lucky.
I'm not going to look for new jobs just yet because I have no Motorcycle and the school doesn't open up until March 3rd. So I have some time to save up and thanks to the minimum wage going up I can save just a bit more.
>>46071
nah, man... it's purely hobby. i aint takin' the mig, pig, or tig semesters. just the basic proficiency for the semester. then i'm getting a bachelor's in european history through southern new hampshire university. already told the teacher this is my plan c and it's purely for hobby purposes and he's like "k... i won't make you do as much work as the other students then" so...
European History is shit. All you need to know is all the brave men died in WWI and WWII and all that was left are a bunch of nations run by sissies and women.
>>46073
What in the world are you intending on welding in your free time then?
>>46076
Sure, it's just that metalworks are harder to come by and welding is a fairly specialised hobby. We got a welder in our workshop at home, but haven't used it in probably over ten years. When I was a kid my dad used to make stuff with it, it was pretty neat.
If you got questions about Python, let me know. I'd be eager to help.
>>46077
i know, but i'm still eager to give it a try...
a little scared of burning to death or exploding, but still excited...
i'll probably have questions later. at the moment i still have to get cross-college paperwork done still so i haven't even had time to crack the book open
>>46078
You'll be wearing gloves and such for your work, so burning isn't likely. You're more likely to forget to put down your visor and get slightly blinded for a bit.
Godspeed.
>>46079
no, i mean flaming hot metal specks flying through the air and catching me on fire, or the sudden pain of one hitting me startling me n causing me to accidentally burn more of myself.
the teacher's said he's gotten flaming chunks of metal in his eyes before... he's also missing part of his thumb and hasn't told us how that's happened
>>46080
You sure you want to do it? Why not just join the priesthood.
>>46081
Because that's your gay fantasy, not hers.
inb4 minty forgets to wield the welding mask and loses sight
>>46081
why not go fuck yourself
>>46084
lolno...
more likely die of testosterone, apparently...
the whole class is all dudes. very "helpful" dudes at that, to the point where right after the teacher left yesterday i had two guys watching me weld. it eventually became a swarm of men "here, you can use my pliers if you need to" "here, use my plate to weld on" "here, let me try and get the bead started for you to weld off of" "here, i'll sweep up your area during cleanup"
the teacher had to intervene. the teacher had to fucking intervene "y'all let the lady do her work"
haha, oh man.
but hey, just show them your dick and they'll go away
>>46086
I can't think of any better thing to do than this.
>>46087
Actually, you could just tell them you're married.

oh wait

I will be taking my vacation(sort of) next week. I only manage to get 2 weeks off but I still have to work the two Sundays(bleh). On the 17th I will be heading to Katsucon in Washington DC and coming back that Sunday(to go to work later that day).
When I come back I'm going to see on applying to the Motorcycle driving school and also start applying for new jobs as this one is terrible. Maybe I will be able to get my motorcycle early April if everything goes well.
