Mince Meat Patties
Ingredients
400g mince meat
Some white bread stuffing
1 carrot
1/2 onion
1 egg yolk
Milk
Thyme
Hot & sweet paprika
Salt & Pepper
Soy sauce
Cream
Garlic
Peanut oil
Flour
Cooking wine
Steps
Simply throw the mince meat, egg yolk, thyme, and paprika into a bowl and mix it. I recommend using one of those twirly mixer attachments.
Tear the white bread stuffing into small little pieces and soak it in milk. Make sure it's not dripping in milk. I recommend simply squashing the bread as you take it out of the cup. Then add it to the main bowl.
Chop the onion into small bits and add it to the main bowl.
Mix some more until it's a nice clump of meat.
Heat up the oven to 120C if it isn't already and put a plate in.
Time to cook! Add some peanut oil to the pan, heat it up, then add some patty mix into the pan in the form of small, well, patties! I recommend pressing them down with the spatula to make them a bit thinner and ensure the meat is cooked through. Make sure it's well fried on one side first before turning. I also recommend lifting the patties up every now and again so that the oil can creep underneath.
Once both sides of the patties are done, take them out of the pan and put them onto the plate in the oven. You might have to do multiple runs of frying depending on how many patties you want to make and how big your pan is.
When you're done frying patties, quickly spread some flour into the pan, stir wildly and then deglaze with cooking wine. Reduce the heat and keep stirring.
Add cream, garlic, thyme, hot and sweet paprika, salt, pepper, and soy sauce as desired and until there's a nice amount of sauce to go around.
Take the patties out of the oven and add them back into the sauce to soak for a bit before serving.
Enjoy!
