Fried Apple Rings
[Woop](https://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-siren.gif) This is pretty fuckin' unhealthy but delicious as fuck [Woop](https://fi.somethingawful.com/images/smilies/emot-siren.gif)
Ingredients
* An apple. I recommend Russets, though any soft apple should work.
* An egg
* Half a cup of flour
* Baking powder
* A bit of cream
* A bit of milk
* Salt
* Sugar
* Peanut oil
Steps
Crack the egg into a measuring jug, add a bit of salt and sugar.
Measure the flour with a small cup, fill it only about half. Then coat the top with some baking soda. It shouldn't be much, just a little.
Add a bit of cream to the egg and start mixing.
Pour the flour in while mixing. Things should get really thick and sticky now.
Add some milk until it is kind of like a cream. Not runny thin, but not super sticky thick either. You should get about 1.5dl of dough here.
Let the dough sit for about a quarter of an hour or more.
Skin the apple and remove its core, then slice it into relatively thin pieces.
If the apple is too crunchy, you can try to put it into a warm water bath to soften it a bit. Be careful though, if it gets too soft, you won't be able to fry it properly anymore.
Pour oil into a pan so that the bottom of it is covered. Heat it up.
Dunk an apple slice into the dough until it's nicely covered, then throw it into the hot oil. Repeat until your pan is full of apple slices.
Watch out that it doesn't get too hot. You don't want things to burn! After a bit, try to tip over the slices to see if they're well done underneath. If so, turn them over. Don't worry, you can turn them multiple times if you need to, just make sure things don't get burnt.
Once it looks nicely dark-brownish on the surface, drop the oil off the slices and put them on a plate with a bit of paper to soak up the excess oil.
If you're making more than one apple I really recommend pre-heating an oven to about 80 degress and putting the plate in there between shifts to keep things nice and warm.
Repeat until you're out of apple slices.
That's it, enjoy! I recommend putting some sugar, cinnamon & sugar, or other things on top of the apple slices to add an additional bit of flavour.
Note that the above recipe will be sufficient for a single person serving. Trust me on this, it is very filling.
