Fried Potato Bits & Fleischkäse
This is a really quick and easy meal to make. If you don't have "Fleischkäse" where you live, you can substitute for any kind of meat that you like to potatoes. If you can make a sauce with it, all the better!
Ingredinets
* Potatoes
* A slice of Fleischkäse
* Salt
* Peanut & olive oil
Steps for the Potato Bits
Slice the potatoes into pieces. If you have small potatoes (recommended), just slicing them once horizontally, turning them around that axis 90°, slicing again, and finally slicing vertically once should suffice. You don't want the pieces to be too big or they'll take long to be properly cooked, and not too small or they'll turn black.
Put some olive oil in a pan and throw the potato pieces in there. Turn the heat up all the way until things fry nicely, then reduce it again to a moderate temperature.
Fry the pieces for *at least* 20-30 minutes. Every few minutes, stir the bits around and add some salt to it. Don't salt too much though– you can always add more at the end, but you won't be able to get rid of it if you overdose. If you have a lid that covers your pan, use that between stirrings. It keeps the moisture in and helps properly cook the bits through.
Take a bite of a big piece to see if it's properly salted and roasted through. If not, add salt or cook for longer.
That's it, you're done.
Steps for the Fleischkäse
Throw some peanut oil into a pan and lay the Fleischkäse slice onto it, then turn it again so that it's covered on both sides.
Turn the heat up all the way until it fries nicely.
Reduce the heat a little bit, but not too much, and turn the slice regularly until it has a nice dark red to black colour. See picture. This should take no more than ten minutes.
That's it.
