are you now.JPG
how do you feel about superstitions and mythologies concerning cats?
the "black cat crossing your path" or the whole idea that they can see things that people can't?
do you feel they were based on real occurences because they can hear things before humans do or do you think the whole thing is silliness?

>Why is this named syrup?
Because the original "creepy" board on STC1 was also syrup, but it was never a public board.

Along with superstition and a lack of understanding of the animal it's not surprising that over the course of time people have been able to
generate these myths from natural occurring phenomena.

I have a lot of cats. I don't count them because most of them are outdoor cats, but almost a dozen.
I can see why people would be freaked, since they can basically teleport, they move so quietly. But I've never seen one do anything
'weird' in all my life.

sleep thread

a lot of odd things happen to us when we sleep: sleep paralysis, nightmares, sleepwalking, night terrors...

what's the creepiest thing that's happened to at night?

for me it's the occasional sleep paralysis where i see shadow spiders all over my room

Holy fucking goddamn christ, I just had my first sleep paralysis experience.

I woke up in the middle of the night and found Freddy fucking Krueger, of all people, standing next to my bed, staring at me. He was wearing a suit
and a wide-brimmed hat, and his face was burned and scarred just like in the movies. I knew what was happening the moment I saw him, so I began doing
the wiggling toe routine in an attempt to wake my body. I was paralyzed of course, but it wasn't to the point where I was completely immobile;
it just took an incredible amount of effort to move.

This whole time as I'm wiggling around, trying to spark life back into my body, Freddy is telling me things. I can't remember what he was
saying, I just remember that what he was saying was strange, and that his lips moved as he spoke.

Eventually I gained enough control over my body to turn my back to him, which broke the paralysis. I immediately sat up and reached out to touch him,
and he blinked out as my hand passed through him.

Luckily, I'm not so scared of Freddy Krueger. However, if it had been one of those bitches from The Ring or The Grudge, I would have definitely
flipped my shit.

which apocalypse do you fear more? which apocalypse scenario are you more prepared for?
do you have a zombie plan? if so, is it catered to fast zombies or slow zombies? do you have a robot plan or do you feel resistance would be futile?
is there an escape route you have set aside? what would you pack to bring with you?

No particular apocalypses in mind. Going into those sorts of situations with too many preconceptions is a recipe for disaster. Same with the retreat
path of choice (both out of the house, out of town, and if necessary out of the region/country/continent).

As far as zombies go I'm mostly worried about fast ones. Slow zombies are, themselves, not much of a worry. They need some other threat like an
infectious disease before I'd worry.

My general preparations include my passable wilderness survival skills, some non-perishable food, a variety of weapons and tools around the house.
I'd need a budget to be more prepared and with that the biggest change would be the addition of a gun.

I have absolutely zero preparation for any kind of disaster and I think that won't change in the future either.

This is mostly because of my lack of paranoia and the fact that I live in Switzerland.

If there's an apocalypse, I'll die like a sensible person. I won't spend ages preparing for it like a paranoid redneck, I'll just
instantly get killed/eaten/whatever, I am perfectly fine with this.

Tell me about your childhood fears.

I for one often heard weird noises at night and thought someone was walking around the night.
So yeah, I was kinda paranoid of burglars and so on.
I don't think I have any particular story to tell about it though, I was never really scared often tbh.

How about you?

I guess we're all pretty rational people here.
Since from what I can gather, most, if not almost all fears are irrational.

as a child i was still the insomniac that i am today...
one particular occasion that i've been debating whether or not to type up, well...
fuck it...
when i was 7 years old, it was about 2 in the morning and i was laying in bed staring at the doorway to my room when i saw a hand wrap around my
doorway and a head peek at me. it was all white with red eyes... sorta like what you'd read about in creepypastas with shadow people, except it
was white instead of black. it stared at me for a couple of seconds and then pulled back and left. i never saw it again.
i'd always be scared to leave my bed at night because i'd always see or imagine that i'd see all sorts of weird shit. i'd have a
bed that came up a few feet off the floor and i'd see/imagine that there was all sorts of weird shit in the dark (my carpet was dark blue and
i'd see shit slither across it that i knew wasn't there). some of it could have been sleep paralysis shit or mild hallucinations from being
awake too long. i'd occasionally hear a random crash from downstairs inside the house and when daylight would come i'd look around before
anyone woke up and there'd be nothing broken.
i still have a mild fear of the dark and sleep with a light on.

>sleep with a light on
Oh my, I couldn't do that. The brighter it is, the worse I sleep.
For me it's best if it's just completely dark.
